In general, the share of total public debt in GDP at the end of January 2023 is estimated at 31.8% against 34% at the end of 2022. Meanwhile, according to preliminary data, GDP in 2022 will amount to 278.2 billion lei, and according to by the end of 2023, it is projected at the level of 308.8 billion lei. The Ministry of Finance noted that at the end of January 2023, the share of public debt payable within one year amounted to 27.3% of the total, the share of domestic public debt in the total public debt was 35.7%. The share of external public debt in a certain currency in the total volume of external public debt at the end of January 2023 was 40.7%, and the share of public debt with a variable interest rate in the total volume of public debt at the end of January 2023 was 49.6%.
