The population and housing census planned for 2024 will be combined with the agricultural census.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the 2024 census will be innovative both in terms of its implementation and data collection. In particular, it is planned to combine the population and housing census with the agricultural census. Also, modern methods will be used for data collection, such as self-testing via the Internet - CAWI (Computer-Assistance Web Interviewing) and interviewing by a reviewer using an electronic device - CAPI (Computer-Assistance Personal Interview). This will use a geographic information system (GIS) as well as data from administrative sources. In this regard, the NBS received certificates of compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 in the field of information security and ISO/IEC 27701:2019 in the protection of personal/confidential data. These certificates guarantee both respondents and owners of administrative and alternative (private) data that the NBS will use individual data in strict accordance with the requirements in the field of personal data protection and information security and the data will be used exclusively for official statistics. These and other issues were discussed at last week's consultations of the NBS with representatives of central and local authorities, civil society, and development partners. A separate topic of discussion was the variables for the census and the criteria for their selection, taking into account the experience of previous censuses and international experience. Recall that the population and housing census is planned to be held in 2024. Earlier it was reported that the cost of the census is estimated at 329.2 million lei, including about 36.8 million lei for the census in the agricultural sector.// 26.12.2022 — InfoMarket.
