It should be noted that the previous historical maximum of the total public debt of Moldova amounted to 85 billion 430.6 million lei and was registered at the end of August. According to the Ministry of Finance, in particular, at the end of September 2022, the total public debt of Moldova amounted to 85 billion 500.4 million lei and increased, compared to the previous month, by 69.8 million lei (+0.08%). At the same time, in general, since the beginning of the year, it has increased by 7 billion 747.7 million lei (+ 10%), since at the end of 2021 the total public debt of Moldova amounted to 77 billion 752.7 million lei. According to the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, the growth of the total public debt in January-September 2022 was due to an increase in the external public debt, denominated in lei, while the domestic public debt decreased. In particular, the domestic public debt decreased by 318.9 million lei (-0.9%) - from 33 billion 281.4 million lei (at the end of December 2021) to 32 billion 962.5 million lei (at the end of September 2022). Herewith, the external public debt in lei over the same period increased by 8 billion 066.6 million lei (+18.1%) - from 44 billion 471.3 million to 52 billion 537.9 million lei. Meanwhile, the share of internal public debt in the total amount of public debt of Moldova at the end of September 2022 amounted to 38.6% (a month earlier - 38.2%), and the share of external public debt - 61.4% (a month earlier - 61.8%). In general, the share of total public debt in GDP at the end of September 2022 is estimated at 30.6% against 32.1% at the end of 2021. Thus, according to preliminary data, GDP in 2021 amounted to 241.87 billion lei, and by the end of 2022 it is projected at the level of 279.7 billion lei. The Ministry of Finance noted that at the end of September 2022, the share of public debt payable within one year amounted to 25.2% of the total, despite the fact that the Program "Public Debt Management in the Medium Term (2022-2024)" provides parameters of 20-30%. The share of domestic public debt in the total volume of public debt was 38.6% (previously approved parameters: 35-50%), the share of external public debt in a certain currency in the total volume of external public debt at the end of September 2022 amounted to 34.5% (approved parameters : 20-45%). The share of public debt with a variable interest rate in the total public debt at the end of September 2022 amounted to 45.1% (with parameters of 25-45%). As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, the total public debt of Moldova in 2021 increased by 9 billion 932 million lei (+ 14.6%), amounting to 77 billion 752.7 million lei. In particular, the domestic public debt increased by 4 billion 045.8 million lei (+13.8%) - from 29 billion 235.6 million lei (at the end of December 2020) to 33 billion 281.4 million lei (at the end of December 2021).
