The Small and Medium Enterprises Greening Program has provided grants of up to 200 thousand lei to 100 projects and up to 500 thousand lei to 50 small and medium enterprises.
According to the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), the funding covers up to 70% of the investment projects, aimed at ecologization of business. The investment projects must be focused on ecological practices in the field of water management, responsible use of energy, as well as the use of raw materials, recycling and waste management. The Green Business Grants Program is open to companies operating in the market for up to two years and who have necessarily completed the first training phase of the program, as well as to enterprises that are more than two years old (for which training was not a prerequisite). Grants are given for: application of sustainable production and energy consumption models; introduction of eco-innovations in technological processes; prevention of environmental pollution and waste reduction; etc. It is noted that ODA continues to accept applications for funding. The SME Greening Program was approved by the Moldovan government on November 27, 2019, with a pilot period of 36 months.
