Budget support for Moldova from development partners could be increased.

This was discussed during the meetings that representatives of the delegation of our country held in Washington with officials from the IMF, the World Bank, the European Commission, the US Treasury and many other international institutions. According to the Ministry of Finance, in particular, Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi, as Governor of the World Bank from Moldova, together with State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Ion Gumene, President and Vice-Presidents of the National Bank of Moldova Octavian Armasu, Constantin Schendra and Arcadie Albul took part in the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group, which were held in Washington from 10 to 17 October. According to the Ministry of Finance, the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank bring together finance ministers, representatives of central banks and high-level leaders from academia and the private sector to discuss issues of global interest: global economic trends and development prospects, the evolution of the global financial system, efficiency financial and technical assistance, etc. Representatives of the Moldovan authorities held meetings with officials from the IMF, WB, European Commission, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), IFC (International Financial Corporation), BSTDB (Black Sea Trade and Development Bank), EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development), the EIB (European Investment Bank), the US Treasury and other international institutions. The discussions were devoted to the economic and social situation in Moldova, the government's priorities for the near future, cooperation relations, increasing budgetary support, aspects of public financial management, as well as assistance that can be provided to our country. Moldovan officials also attended the annual meeting of the IMF/WB Constituent Assembly, led by Belgium and the Netherlands, which brings together 15 countries from the Benelux region, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Israel, as well as the annual plenary meeting.
