Economic Forum Moldova - Romania will be held in Chisinau on May 17.
The event is organized in the Moldovan capital by the Romanian Embassy in Moldova together with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of Romania and the Association of Investors from Romania in Moldova (AIR). The Moldova-Romania Economic Forum will be dedicated to the development of bilateral trade, tourism and the investment sector by intensifying the dialogue between Moldovan entrepreneurs and the Romanian business community. The event will take place at Digital Park. The Moldova-Romania Economic Forum will bring together well-known representatives of the private, business and development sectors, as well as the central authorities of Moldova and Romania. It should be noted that Romania is the largest trade and economic partner of Moldova. According to the results of January-February 2022, Romania was the largest trading partner of Moldova in terms of exports, purchasing the most Moldovan products during the specified period. At the same time, in terms of the volume of supplies of goods to our country, it took 2nd place after Russia. In particular, the volume of Moldovan exports to Romania in January-February 2022 amounted to $186.8 million, an increase of 1.7 times compared to the same period in 2021. In the total volume of Moldovan exports, it increased over the specified period from 26.51% to 28%. However, the volume of imports from Romania in the first 2 months of 2022, compared to the previous year, increased by 46.2% - up to $169.5 million, and its share in total Moldovan imports increased from 12.59% to 13.14%.
