Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu participates in the Annual Meeting of EBRD Board of Governors on behalf of Moldova.
The event is held on May 10-12 in Marrakech, Morocco. The Ministry of Economy reported that at the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development annual reports of the bank will be presented and the strategy for the next 2 years in the context of the situation in the region, which also affects Moldova, will be adopted. A special session is dedicated to the war in Ukraine and the countries affected by it. In this context, Sergiu Gaibu has been invited to speak about how the war in Ukraine affects our country. At the same time, he will hold bilateral meetings with representatives of the governments of Iceland, France, Germany, Turkey and Morocco, at which bilateral economic relations will be considered. Traditionally at the annual meeting the EBRD awards the most sustainable projects all over the world. This year the main prize will be awarded to CET-Nord JSC from Moldova for the energy efficiency projects implemented with EBRD's support. The EBRD's Permanent Representation in Moldova has supported 145 projects, of which 52 are operational, with a portfolio of 616 million euros in strategic areas: infrastructure, financial institutions, industry, trade and agribusiness. // 10.05.2022 - InfoMarket.
