A contest of project proposals has started in Moldova within the framework of the National Program of Local Development "European Village".

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development informed about it, noting that the contest will be held jointly with Regional Development Agencies and the projects will be financed from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. Mayoralties may submit project proposals for the construction or modernization of water and sewage systems, renovation of kindergartens, schools, cultural centers and other local infrastructure facilities. They may also submit project proposals for local business development or energy efficiency. In particular, local public administration authorities of the 1st level, eligible to participate in the contest, can submit project proposals that will contribute to: sustainable development of localities; ensuring access of citizens to quality public services; increasing access of population to social infrastructure; increasing the degree of use of investment attraction opportunities. The ceiling amounts for each project will be: 10 million lei for construction, expansion, rehabilitation, modernization of water supply, water treatment and sewage systems; 10 million lei for construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation of public buildings, including through energy efficiency measures; 10 million lei for construction, reconstruction of sports facilities, including buildings for socially vulnerable groups (care centers for children, the elderly and people with special needs), including medical infrastructure; 5 million lei for installation of energy production and supply systems using Applications for funding can be submitted from March 22 to April 20. Application forms for funding together with supporting documents should be submitted by applicants in person to the North, South, Center Regional Development Agencies and Gagauzia. Co-financing application files can be submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development in order to obtain co-financing of the implemented projects from external assistance sources.
