In the IV quarter of 2021, the average monthly nominal salary in Moldova amounted to 9767.6 lei, an increase of 10.2% compared to the same period in 2020.
As the National Bureau of Statistics told InfoMarket, in real terms, taking into account inflation, the average salary in the fourth quarter of 2021 decreased by 1.3%. At the same time, for the whole of 2021, the average nominal salary in the economy amounted to 9,115.9 lei, an increase of 12.4% compared to the previous year. In real terms, taking into account inflation growth, the average salary in 2021 increased by 6.9%. It should be noted that in the fourth quarter of 2021, the average salary in the public sector amounted to 8,241.9 lei (+3.7% compared to the same period in 2020), and in the real sector of the economy - 10,320 lei (+12.2%). The highest salaries were received by employees of the ICT sector - an average of 22,335.3 lei (+10% compared to the same period in 2020), the financial and insurance industry - 18,666.9 lei (+16.6%), as well as enterprises for the production and supply of electricity, gas, water, air conditioning - 14,085.2 lei (-2.1%). The lowest salaries remain in the field of tourist accommodation and catering - 5,723.8 lei (+11.39%), in agriculture, forestry and fishing - 6,850.4 lei (+23.4%), as well as in arts, recreation and entertainment - 6,903.5 lei (+9.4%). In the fourth quarter of 2021, the average salary of employees in the field of administrative services and ancillary activities amounted to 7,269.5 lei (+10.5%); in real estate transactions – 7,767.6 lei (+12.1%); in the education system - 7,832.2 lei (+2.2%); in the field of trade, repair of cars and motorcycles - 8,804.6 lei (+ 11.8%); in the field of transport and storage services - 7,827.6 lei (+12.1%); in construction - 8,774.8 lei (+6.1%); in the field of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance - 11,085.8 lei (+4%); in the healthcare and social protection system - 12,132.9 lei (+14.8%); in the field of scientific and technical activities - 12,351 lei (+10.3%). In the industrial sector, salaries averaged 8,953.8 lei (+9.4%), including in the processing industry - 8,351.1 lei (+12.5%); at enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste treatment and processing and restoration work - 8,627.7 lei (+5.9%); in the extractive industry - 8613.6 lei (+12.6%), and the highest was in the enterprises for the production and supply of electricity, gas, water, air conditioning - 14 085.2 lei (-2,1%).// 01.03.2022 — InfoMarket
