The Ministry of Economy discussed with representatives of the EBRD mission the economic situation in Moldova, the FEZ reform, trade with the EU and business support.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the discussions were held as part of the country diagnostic mission of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which it regularly conducts in the countries in which it operates. Representatives of the Ministry of Economy reflected the most important aspects of the institution's agenda, problems, as well as progress in the field of economy. In particular, issues related to support for small and medium enterprises through the Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprise Sector (ODIMM), the reform of free economic zones, the introduction of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Moldova and the European Union, the introduction of European standards, etc. were touched upon. The EBRD mission is also conducting formal negotiations with other relevant government agencies, after which it will produce a report outlining priorities and support measures for the next 5 years. The EBRD Resident Office in Moldova has contributed to the implementation of 145 projects, of which 52 are active, with a portfolio of €616 million in strategic areas: infrastructure, financial institutions, industry, trade and agribusiness. // 15.02.2022 – InfoMarket
