Moldova’s revenues from the privatization of state property in 2020 amounted to 420.5 million lei, which is 40% less than the planned.

At the same time, this is the highest result in the last 3 years. For comparison, in 2019, revenues from privatization in Moldova amounted to 191.7 million lei, in 2018 - 366.03 million lei. According to the Public Property Agency, last year there were organized 4 auctions under the hammer for the sale of state property, 1 commercial tender, 3 auctions on the Stock Exchange, in which 51 state property objects were put up for privatization (the main part was put for sale twice). It is noted that in 2020 all proceeds from privatization came as a result of "under the hammer" auctions, which took place on August 5, October 21, November 4 and December 16. As a result, 19 out of 37 objects put up for privatization were sold (including 4 single property complexes, 8 real estate complexes and 7 real estate sites for construction). The most expensive object is a real estate complex with an area of 5.6208 hectares located on V. Lupu Street in Chisinau; it was sold for 230 million lei. It is noted that last year, in order to sell state property, the preparation of 77 objects included in the list of state property subject to privatization was organized, as well as an assessment of all objects put up for privatization was carried out, the dossier for each object, financial and economic indicators and other relevant for potential investors data. The Public Property Agency also organized tenders for the selection of companies to assess state property subject to privatization. The companies were selected through the M-Tender platform, in an automated and transparent way, and the main criterion was the lowest offer price. The Public Property Agency emphasizes that the total cost of the objects privatized in 2020 was 1.9 times higher than the estimated value (222.1 million lei) and 22% more than the initial cost set by the privatization commission (344.4 million lei). // 13.01.2021 - InfoMarket.
