The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) is holding Global Money Week, an international week of financial education, from March 17 to 21

According to the National Bank's message, within this event in the field of financial education, NBM offers a unique experience: visitors will be able to get acquainted with a historical collector's item - a coin press, brought to Chisinau by the Romanian State Mint specifically for display in the NBM Museum. Visitors will be offered interactive demonstrations; they will even be able to take part in the process of creating a symbolic coin called Global Money Week. “At the National Bank of Moldova, visitors will be able to experience a fascinating chapter in the history of money. With Global Money Week, we want to inspire young people to understand and appreciate financial education, because a prosperous future starts with informed and balanced choices,” emphasized Anca Dragu, NBM Governor. Another event this year will be the launch of “FinanciarELE - Women's Leadership Community”, a dialogue forum organized by the NBM Governor, which aims to provide relevant information, mentoring opportunities and career guidance support, thus strengthening women's leadership in the financial and banking sector. In this first edition, the guests will be the representatives of Moldova at the IMF, World Bank and EU Delegation. In addition, Global Money Week 2025 will feature a series of events designed to inspire and educate: interactive workshops and trainings for all those interested in improving their financial literacy; a workshop for journalists and journalism students, offering the opportunity to deepen their understanding of monetary policy; educational sessions from NBM experts, as well as from its partners, such as the Romanian Financial Supervision Authority and the Expert-Grup Independent Think-Tank. Participants will discuss with mentors the role of the National Bank, MIA instant payments, responsible financial behavior, the EUR as a base currency, the primary market for government securities, investments and many other topics that inform personal financial decisions. Global Money Week is being held in Moldova for the 13th year. This initiative, launched by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and joined by 176 countries, aims to support young people in developing the financial knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors necessary to make responsible financial decisions for personal well-being. // 17.03.2025 - InfoMarket.
