The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will organize a week of financial education for young people and children in a new format

According to NBM, in particular, from March 17 to 23, pupils of all ages and students from Moldova will have the opportunity to spend the Global Money Week together with the National Bank of Moldova, which has prepared a lot of interesting and useful activities to get acquainted with the financial world. According to Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, the financially literate young generation realizes that gaining financial knowledge means a future with more responsible decisions about savings, investments and loans. “What is the financial market, who are its participants and their importance, what advantages it can offer to citizens are just some of the questions whose answers bring positive changes in everyone's personal perspective,” she said. The NBM head emphasized that the financial education event planned by the NBM will consist of sessions and workshops on various topics. The participants will discuss with mentors the monetary policy decisions, the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), the use of cards for secure online payments, the euro as a base currency and many other relevant topics, important for young consumers who want to know how to make wise financial decisions. One of the most anticipated highlights of the event is the launch of the Women's Leadership Project, which will offer an open dialog with the world's leading figures. The initiative aims to inspire and support the formation of a new generation of women who are financially educated, confident and ready to become leaders in the economic and financial sector. As in previous editions, a visit to the NBM exhibition hall will be organized. The highlight of the event will be the historical press provided by the Romanian State Mint for display in the NBM Museum. Participation in the event will be possible by pre-registration. Groups of up to 35 people aged 9 years and older will be formed. Schoolchildren will be accompanied by a designated person who will be responsible for the safety of minors during the trip or workshop. Inquiries can be sent by March 14 to edufin@bnm.md. Global Money Week is an international initiative launched 13 years ago and 176 countries have joined. // 12.03.2025 - InfoMarket
