Petru Rotaru has been appointed First Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), and Mihnea Constantinescu - Vice-Governor of the NBM

The corresponding decisions were adopted by the Parliament at a plenary session on Thursday. In particular, Petru Rotaru will hold the position of First Vice-Governor, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Council and Executive Committee of the NBM for 7 years. At present, Petru Rotaru is the Vice-Governor of the National Bank. Previously, he was Minister of Finance, Director of the State Tax Service and a member of the Court of Accounts. Petru Rotaru also has experience in the financial sphere and in the private sector. Also, Mihnea Constantinescu was appointed Vice President of the National Bank of Moldova and member of the Executive Committee of the NBM for 7 years. According to the National Bank of Moldova, Mihnea Constantinescu has work experience in the system of central banks, as well as academic activity in the financial and banking sector. He is currently an Advisor to the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Anca Dragu. He was head of the analytical department of the National Bank of Ukraine from 2019-2024 and in 2014- 2018 – of the Bank of Lithuania. Mihnea Constantinescu has also taught and conducted research at the universities of Amsterdam, Zurich and New York. The governing bodies of the National Bank of Moldova are the 7-member Supervisory Board (3 executive and 4 independent) and the 5-member Executive Committee. // 06.02.2025 - InfoMarket
