The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has prepared the 4th episode of the “Give Sense to Money” podcast with the support of the USAID’s “Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms” (MISRA) program
According to the report of the National Bank, the new episode of the podcast was attended by Anca Dragu, Governor of the NBM, and Octavian Schen, General Manager of the State Mint of Romania. One of the central themes of this podcast episode is the long-standing cooperation between the two institutions. This relationship has led to the development of landmark projects, such as the issuance of commemorative coins highlighting the history, culture and art of Moldova. Anca Dragu said that the issuance of commemorative coins is a symbol of the synergy between the cultural and historical values of Moldova and Romania, and for more than three decades this cooperation has benefited not only through the quality of the coins issued, but also through the ties created between the two friendly countries. Octavian Schen spoke about the fact that the Romanian State Mint, together with the National Bank of Moldova, has issued more than 100 commemorative coins, reflecting both the traditions of Moldova and its modern values. The podcast also highlights the NBM's initiatives to combine tradition with technology. An example is the development of an application that will allow citizens to know the history of each commemorative coin by scanning a QR code. It was also announced that from December 2, 2024 the NBM will directly sell commemorative coins. This initiative facilitates public access to these unique pieces, strengthening the relationship between the institution and citizens. “We want to strengthen the relationship with the citizen and increase trust in the National Bank. Trust is an extremely important element in the economy and a very important element for the central bank,” Anca Dragu emphasized. The new episode of the podcast will be broadcast on January 26 on Moldova 1 TV channel (18:30). To ensure maximum accessibility, it will also be available on other channels starting January 27, on various NBM platforms, on the website and on its pages in social networks. // 22.01.2025 - InfoMarket.
