The National Bank of Moldova will continue to promote financial education of young people and their involvement in the sustainable development of the country's economy
This was stated by the Vice President of the National Bank of Moldova Petru Rotaru, speaking at the opening of the first financial education club for students - FINEDU ASEM, where he emphasized the role of financial education and the involvement of young people in the sustainable development of the Moldovan economy. Petru Rotaru noted that students represent a segment of society with a special openness to innovations and an increased ability to absorb new concepts. "That is why we must provide them with all the necessary support so that they understand the importance of financial education. This not only expands their personal and professional development opportunities, but also helps them become informed consumers, capable of making informed financial decisions and participating in economic development projects of the country," the Vice President of the National Bank emphasized. He noted that the NBM constantly contributes to the training of future specialists and, indirectly, to the development of a more inclusive and prosperous society. "Financial education is part of the mission of the National Bank of Moldova, and through our national campaigns or financial education camps, we aim to provide young people with all the necessary tools to become financially responsible citizens and professionals," said Petru Rotaru. The Vice-President of the National Bank noted the partnership of the NBM and the importance of regional cooperation to align it with European financial standards, mentioning in particular the "Modern Financial School" project, which is being implemented jointly with the National Bank of Romania and the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest (ASE) for master's and final-year bachelor's students of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM). "We offer students from Moldova access to financial education at European level. This program not only enriches the financial and banking knowledge of the participants, but also gives them the opportunity to directly interact with leading professionals from Romania during discussions and lectures held by specialists from Bucharest," concluded Vice-President Petru Rotaru. The event, organized as part of the 33rd anniversary of ASEM, brought together representatives from the public, private and academic sectors to discuss the prospects for economic development and the importance of sustainable economic policies. //25.09.2024 – InfoMarket.
