Moldova: the volume of non-cash card payments has grown almost 7 times over the last 7 years - from 8 billion 893 million to 60 billion 710 million lei.

The Moldovan Banks Association reported this, noting that non-cash payments are becoming more and more popular in our country, and just for a year the number of such non-cash transactions increased by 35% - from 136 million to 183 million. The number of issued cards exceeded 3.3 million pieces by the end of 2023. As noted by the Moldovan Banks Association, these figures reflect not only a significant evolution of digital transactions, but also serious changes in the payment methods preferred by Moldovan residents. Cashless payments are becoming an increasingly attractive option, offering people not only convenience, but also secure and fast transactions. The national campaign "No cash" (Fără cash) was organized by the Moldovan Banks Association (ABM) in partnership with the international payment system Visa and with the support of the Future Technology Activity (FTA) project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden and the United Kingdom. The goal of the campaign is to promote the use of digital payments as the main method of payment and encourage their implementation in the daily activities of the country's citizens. // 14.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
