Moldovan banks’ net profit of in January 2024 amounted to 335.61 million lei, down by 28.4% (-133.2 million), compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks in the country made a profit in the first month of this year. At that, 291.93 million lei (87% of the total net profit) accounted for 4 banks: maib, Moldindconbank, OTP Bank and Victoriabank. Another 43.7 million lei of net profit was earned by the remaining 7 banks. At the same time, only 2 banks that made profit in January 2024 increased their volumes compared to the same period of 2023, while 9 banks decreased their volumes. As follows from the data presented by the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, in January 2024 the biggest net profit was made by: maib - 116.95 million lei (January 2023 - 95.39 million lei), Moldindconbank - 90.11 million lei (122.28 million lei), OTP Bank - 47.24 million lei (97.04 million lei) and Victoriabank - 37.63 million lei (73.45 million lei). Next in terms of net profit in January 2024 follow: FinComBank - 13.35 million lei (18.49 million lei), ProCreditBank - 10.68 million lei (20.68 million lei), Eximbank - 8.06 million lei (4.88 million lei), BCR Chisinau – 5.88 million lei (13.67 million lei), Energbank - 4.25 million lei (10.28 million lei), EuroCreditBank - 1.02 million lei (5.26 million lei) and Comerțbank - 0.42 million lei (7.38 million lei).
