
The net profit of banks in Moldova in January-September 2023 amounted to 3 billion 355.2 million lei, increasing by 508.7 million lei (+17.9%) compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks in the country received a profit for 9 months of this year. At the same time, about 2 billion 921.4 million lei (87.1% of the total net profit) fell to the share of 4 banks: Maib, Moldindconbank, OTP Bank and Victoriabank. The remaining 7 banks earned approximately 433.8 million lei in net profit. Herewith, for 5 banks that received profit in January-September 2023, its volumes increased compared to the same period in 2022, and for 6 banks it decreased. As follows from the data presented by the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, for 9 months of 2023, the largest net profit was received by: Maib - 957.84 million lei (in January-September 2022 - 836.72 million lei), Moldindconbank - 770.38 million lei (797.15 million lei), OTP Bank - 622.13 million lei (233.59 million) and Victoriabank – 571.05 million lei (496.98 million).
