In Moldova, from 2023, indexed deposit amounts will be paid to all Banca de Economii depositors up to and including 1991 year of birth
This is provided for by the draft relevant government decree, which was prepared by the Ministry of Finance. In the materials of the department, it is noted that in 2022 the age limit for indexation beneficiaries was reached (up to and including 1991 year of birth). At the same time, for various reasons, not all indexation beneficiaries apply for the payment of indexed amounts to them. Therefore, the prepared draft government decree proposes to establish that, starting from 2023, payments of indexed amounts will be made to Banca de Economii depositors born before 1991 inclusive, who did not receive indexed amounts related to the first and / or second stage in previous years. Payment of indexed amounts will be made in accordance with the amounts provided for in the state budget for indexation for the corresponding year. The law on the state budget for the current year provides for 20 million lei for the payment of indexed deposits to the depositors of the Banca de Economii. As InfoMarket agency reported earlier, at the first stage, the indexation of household deposits is carried out in the ratio of 1 ruble to 1 lei for the first thousand rubles on all accounts. The second stage of indexation of deposits provides for payments in the ratio of 2.5 rubles to 1 lei on accounts with a balance of more than 1 thousand rubles for one contributor. Payments of indexed deposits are made through the state enterprise Posta Moldovei. The law on indexation of monetary deposits of citizens in Banca de Economii was adopted by the Parliament of Moldova on December 12, 2002. According to the Banca de Economii, as of January 2, 1992, a total of 1 million 988.9 thousand accounts were registered in Moldova, and the amount of deposits on them amounted to 4 billion 137.3 million rubles. Initial calculations showed that 1.7 billion lei would be required to index all ruble deposits of the population in the Banca de Economii.
