
The net profit of Moldovan banks in January-May 2022 amounted to 1 billion 430.92 million lei, an increase of 693 million lei (1.9 times), compared to the same period in 2021.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, profit for 5 months of this year received all 11 banks. At the same time, about 1 billion 179.82 million lei (82.5% of the total net profit) fell to the share of 4 banks: maib, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank and OTP Bank. Another 7 banks earned approximately 251.1 million lei of net profit. Herewith, for all 11 banks that received profit in January-May 2022, its volumes increased compared to the same period in 2021. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank, in particular, for 5 months of 2022, the largest net profit was received by: maib - 425.43 million lei (in January-May 2021 - 218.36 million lei), Moldindconbank - 359.27 million lei (214.06 million), Victoriabank - 252.97 million lei (87.89 million) and OTP Bank - 142.15 million lei (118.19 million).
