
Moldovan banks’ net profit in January-March 2022 amounted to 799.89 million lei, up 377.53 million lei (1.9 times) compared to the same period in 2021.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, in 3 months of this year, all 11 banks registered profit. Four banks (maib, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank and OTP Bank) accounted for 664.14 million lei (83% of the net income). The net profit of the remaining 7 banks amounted to about 135.75 million lei. At the same time, in 10 out of 11 banks, which have received a profit in the 1st quarter of 2022, the profit volume increased compared to the same period of 2021, and 1 bank had a decrease in profits. According to the data, provided by the National Bank of Moldova, in January-March 2022, the largest net profit was received by: maib - 261.44 million lei (in January-March 2021 - 148.48 million lei), Moldindconbank - 193.08 million lei (106.57 million), Victoriabank - 151.45 million lei (37.04 million) and OTP Bank - 58.17 million lei (75.62 million).
