According to the National Bank of Moldova, at the same time, compared to March of the previous year, it increased by 1.92 percentage points. Individuals placed deposits in lei in March 2022 with an average rate of 6.68%, legal entities - with an average rate of 3.52%. Herewith, compared to the previous month, the average interest rate on deposits of individuals in March 2022 increased by 0.81 percentage points, and on deposits of legal entities - increased by 0.48 percentage points. Meanwhile, compared to March of the previous year, the average interest rate on deposits of individuals in March 2022 increased by 2.83 percentage points, and legal entities - increased by 0.62 percentage points. Deposits in lei for a period of 6 to 12 months were the most attractive in the reporting month, had the largest share (35.9% of the total) and were attracted at an average rate of 6.81%, while the average rate for individuals was 7.35%, for legal entities - 3.62%. The highest average interest rate on deposits attracted in the national currency from individuals was registered on deposits for a period of 1-2 years, amounting to 7.58% per annum, and for legal entities - on deposits for a period of more than 2 to 5 years, amounting to 4.19% per annum.
