Moldova's monetary base decreased by 2 billion 329.9 million lei (-4%) in November 2021, compared to the previous month, amounting to 56 billion 189.7 million lei.

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) reported this, noting that at the same time, compared with November of the previous year, it increased by 5.2%. According to the NBM, in November 2021, the monetary base M0 (money in circulation) decreased by 1 billion 102.4 million lei (-3.5%), as compared with October 2021, and amounted to 30 billion 819.6 million lei. At the same time, it increased by 8.8%, compared to November 2020. Monetary base M1 (money in circulation and residents’ demand deposits in MDL) decreased by 1 billion 712.9 million lei (-2.8%), as compared to October 2021, and reached 58 billion 447.3 million lei. At the same time, it exceeded the figure of November of the previous year by 12.5%. Monetary base M2 (includes monetary aggregate M1, residents’ term deposits in MDL and money market instruments) reduced by 1 billion 955.3 million lei (-2.4%), as compared to October 2021, and constituted 80 billion 177 million lei. Compared to November of the previous year, the index increased by 10.7%.
