Constantin Șchendra was appointed the new vice-president of the National Bank of Moldova for a period of 7 years.

The corresponding resolution was adopted by the parliament at a meeting on November 4. The candidacy of Constantin Șchendra for the vacant position of Vice President of the NBM was proposed to the Parliament by the President of the National Bank, Octavian Armasu. As it was noted, Constantin Șchendra meets all the special requirements provided by the law for appointment to the post of Vice President of the NBM, including having a good reputation and rich experience in the financial and banking sector for over 18 years. He has worked for more than 8 years in international audit companies, and from 2018 to the present, Constantin Șchendra has worked at the National Bank as Director of the Banking Supervision Department. He participated in the reform of the banking sector and contributed to the establishment of good governance in licensed banks in Moldova. It should be noted that earlier the IMF called the appointment of new vice-presidents of the NBM one of the conditions for the IMF's approval of the new Program for our country. The IMF emphasizes that the protection of independence, financial autonomy and effective management of the National Bank of Moldova are essential to achieve the objectives of the program. // 04.11.2021 — InfoMarket
