
The net profit of the banks of Moldova in January-February 2021 amounted to 259.5 million lei, decreasing by 56.3 million (-17.8%), compared to the same period in 2020.
According to the National Bank, 10 out of 11 banks gained profit in the first 2 months of this year, and 1 bank suffered losses. At the same time, about 238.8 million lei (92% of the total net profit) accounted for 4 banks: Moldindconbank, Mobiasbanca - OTP Group, Moldova-Agroindbank, and Victoriabank. Another 24.74 million lei of net profit was earned by 6 banks, and 1 of the banks suffered losses of 4.04 million lei. Herewith, 4 out of 10 banks that made a profit in January-February 2021 increased their volumes compared to the same period in 2020, and 6 banks had a decrease in profit. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank, in particular, in January-February 2021, the largest net profit was received by: Moldova-Agroindbank - 82.82 million lei (in January-February 2020 - 132.82 million lei), Moldindconbank - 78.05 million lei (68.61 million), Mobiasbanca - OTP Group - 54.45 million lei (44.83 million) and Victoriabank - 23.48 million lei (33.66 million).
