According to the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), at the same time, in monetary terms, these transfers from Israel, in 2020, compared to the previous year, increased by 20.7%, and their share in the total volume decreased by 0.1 percentage points. The second place in terms of the volume of money transfers to Moldova through banks in favor of individuals in 2020 was taken by Italy, from where $208.92 million (in US dollar terms) came to our country, or 14.1% of the total volume. In monetary terms, such transfers increased by 38.7%, and their share in the total volume increased from 12.3% to 14.1%. Russia, which for many recent years was the leader in terms of the volume of money transfers to Moldova through banks in favor of individuals, in 2020, took only the 3rd place in the overall rating with an indicator of $205.5 million (13.8% of the total). At the same time, in monetary terms, the indicators of transfers, compared to the previous year, decreased by 19.7%, and their share in the total volume decreased by 7.1 percentage points. Further, in terms of the volumes of the mentioned transfers to Moldova in 2020, follow: Germany - $155.9 million (+ 60.3%); UK - $116.75 million (+ 36.4%); USA - $105.02 million (+ 11.3%); France - $100.03 million (+ 55.6%); Ireland - $39.69 million (doubled); Romania - $27.43 million (+ 55.1%); Czech Republic - $23.66 million (+ 44.2%); Spain - $22.31 million (+ 17.8%); Belgium - $20.19 million (+ 52.4%); Portugal - $19.21 million (+ 22.8%); Poland - $16.12 million (+ 19.7%); Turkey - $14.25 million (+ 30.7%); Ukraine - $10.03 million (+ 72.3%); Canada - $8.27 million (+ 28.8%); Cyprus - $7.13 million (+ 7.5%); Greece - $6.8 million (+ 9%); UAE - $4.73 million (-23.7%) and Kazakhstan - $2.27 million (+ 2.3%). Remittances from the named 21 countries, including Russia, amounted to $1 billion 390.66 million (93.5% of the total volume of remittances to Moldova in 2020). According to the NBM, in general, within the framework of transfers from the EU, the largest share in 2020 accounted for transfers from Italy - 29.9%, followed by transfers from Germany (22.3%), France (14.3%), Ireland ( 5.7%), Romania (3.9%), Czech Republic (3.4%), Spain (3.2%), Belgium (2.9%), Portugal (2.7%), Poland (2.3%), Cyprus (1%) and Greece (1%). In the structure of transfers from the CIS countries, transfers from Russia prevailed, with an absolute share of 92.4%. Transfers from other CIS countries occurred as follows: Ukraine - 4.5%, Kazakhstan - 1%, Belarus - 0.6%, Uzbekistan - 0.5%, Azerbaijan - 0.4% and the rest of the CIS states - 0.6%.
