A multimodal freight terminal will be built in Chisinau with the support of the European Union to facilitate trade between Moldova and the EU and strengthen Moldova's role in regional supply chains

This was announced by the EU Delegation to Moldova, noting that Moldova's trade with the EU is growing rapidly, and the need for smarter logistics solutions is also growing. In this regard, a multimodal freight terminal is planned for construction in Chisinau. This modern logistics hub will mean faster goods transportation for the Moldovan economy, closer connections between Moldovan exporters and European markets, lower transportation and logistics costs, and greater opportunities for regional trade. This logistics hub, to be built in Chisinau, will strengthen Moldova's role in regional supply chains. The future facility is considered a landmark project for the Eastern Partnership. The new hub is expected to boost Moldova's logistics potential, provide exporters with faster and more cost-effective access to EU markets, and connect road, rail, and maritime transport into a single, modern hub. A feasibility study for the future terminal is being developed with the support of the EU-funded EPIC Facility and in cooperation with the Moldovan authorities. The new hub will reduce costs, simplify logistics processes, and strengthen Moldova's role in regional supply chains, which is an important factor in trade development. // 31.03.2026 — InfoMarket
