Industrial production in Moldova increased 3% in January-September 2025 versus the same period last year

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, this trend demonstrates the impact of local companies' investments in modernization and expansion, which is reflected in increasingly stable production growth. The main driver of growth remains the manufacturing industry, which grew by 2.5% (impact of 2 percentage points). Within the manufacturing industry, positive dynamics were supported by such activities as the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, the production of measuring and control equipment, metal structures, and clothing, as well as growing sectors such as metallurgy, printing, mechanical engineering, plastics, toys, and the chemical industry. The food industry contracted by 5.7%, slowing its growth rate by 1.1 percentage points compared to the overall growth rate in the manufacturing industry. “Overall, the data shows an increasingly modernized, diversified, and technology-oriented industry, where corporate investments are yielding tangible results in the economy,” the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization states. // 12.12.2025 — InfoMarket
