The automatic exchange of financial account information between Moldova and other countries will also include cryptocurrencies

This will be provided for by relevant amendments to the multilateral agreement between competent authorities on the automatic exchange of financial account information, signed in Berlin in 2014, the start of negotiations on which and subsequent signing was approved by the parliamentary committee on foreign policy. According to the Ministry of Finance, the amendment to this agreement will update the existing system of automatic exchange of information on financial accounts in connection with changes in financial markets and new tax risks, including those related to digital assets such as cryptocurrencies. The purpose of the amendment is to include additional information to the automatic exchange of data between competent authorities so that it reflects the latest developments in the international, financial, and tax spheres and contributes to greater tax transparency. Moldova received permission to exchange financial account data in 2023, and the first exchange took place in 2024. A similar data exchange is carried out by 120 other countries. After signing the amendment to the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the automatic exchange of financial account information, the document will be submitted for ratification at a plenary session of parliament. // 10.12.2025 – InfoMarket.
