Moldova ranks last in Europe in terms of total foreign direct investments

This follows from the data contained in the World Investment Report 2025, prepared by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The document states that the volume of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Moldova as of the end of 2024 amounted to $5 billion 389 million, down by $66 million (-1.2%) compared to the previous year ($5 billion 455 million at the end of 2023). This is the lowest FDI indicator among all European countries, including EU countries and non-EU countries. At the same time, compared to the 2010 indicator, the volume of foreign direct investments in Moldova has grown almost 1.9 times, as it amounted to $2 billion 897 million at that time. The World Investment Report notes that FDI inflows to Moldova amounted to $523 million in 2019, $150 million in 2020, $404 million in 2021, $591 million in 2022 - $591 million, in 2023 - $357 million, and in 2024 - $344 million. // 07.10.2025 – InfoMarket.
