Construction of Moldova's first HiTech Park, a park for advanced technologies, is scheduled to begin in 2026: investments in this project will amount to €200 million
The project for a new economic and technological platform of national importance, Moldova HiTech Park advanced technology park, was presented at a press conference on August 19 by Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor and Head of the Public Property Agency Roman Cojuhari. According to Doina Nistor, direct investments in the Park's infrastructure are estimated at €200 million, which will be attracted from both state sources and with the support of the European Union under the Development Plan, as well as from private investors. These resources will remain in the country and will be used to directly support the national economy. The Park's net economic income is expected to exceed €1.28 billion by 2052. The Minister noted that this is a major investment in the country's sustainable economic development, which will create high-paying jobs, support practical skills-based higher education, and foster the development of a new generation of local entrepreneurs. The park is conceived as one of the pillars of the modern economy, based on information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, big data processing, etc. Moldova HiTech Park will create at least 21,600 high-paying jobs in leading fields such as IT, engineering, medical services and research, microelectronics, and creative industries. Moldova HiTech Park is a joint initiative of the Parliament, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Public Property Agency, the Technical University of Moldova, the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy named after Nicolae Testemitanu, the Stauceni City Hall, with the support of the European Union and the contribution of the Innovate Moldova program, funded by Sweden, the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF) and the UNITH2B Architects project bureau. On July 10, the Moldovan Parliament approved a bill to create Moldova HiTech Park for the implementation of a 30-year project of national importance. The Park will be built on a 50-hectare site in Stauceni, near Chișinău, not far from the Chișinău Arena. HiTech Park is conceived as a holistic ecosystem combining education, science, research, and the business environment. The Park will include modern offices, laboratories, university campuses, conference centers, and infrastructure for collaboration and innovation. The government is expected to approve the necessary decisions in the near future to ensure the administrative activities of the Park and launch the process of attracting investors. In particular, it is planned to approve a government decree on the establishment of a management company for Moldova HiTech Park. According to the draft, it will be a limited liability company, 55% of whose authorized capital will belong to the state through the Public Property Agency, 15% to the Chisinau Municipal Council, 15% to the Stauceni City Council, and 7.5% each to the Technical University of Moldova and the N. Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The company's authorized capital will be 3 million lei, which will be formed from the contributions of the founders. The construction of the Park will take place in several stages, the first of which will begin in 2026. // 19.08.2025 — InfoMarket.
