
The World Bank will continue to support projects in Moldova that contribute to improving the environment
This was stated by the new manager of the World Bank Group in Moldova, Ulrich Schmitt, at a meeting with our country's Minister of Environment, Sergiu Lazarencu. According to the Ministry of Environment, the parties discussed various environmental projects. Sergiu Lazarencu congratulated Ulrich Schmitt on his appointment and emphasized the important role of the World Bank in supporting environmental projects in our country. He thanked the World Bank for its support for environmental projects, including sustainable land management, modernization of meteorological services, adaptation to climate change, and preparation for the introduction of carbon pricing. During the discussions, Sergiu Lazarencu also emphasized the importance of the Project on Wetlands and Terrestrial Ecosystem Restoration in Moldova, which will contribute to the expansion of forest areas and the protection of the country's water resources.
