
2.5 billion lei will be allocated for the implementation of 87 regional development projects in Moldova
Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea presented the results of a competition for regional development projects at a press conference on August 15. Of the 205 applications submitted by mayors and district councils across the country, 87 projects were selected to receive 2.5 billion lei in funding from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. According to Vladimir Bolea, 47 projects will provide access to drinking water and sewage systems, 19 projects are aimed at increasing Moldova's tourist appeal, 15 projects are related to urban transformation through urban revitalization measures, and 6 projects will receive investments for the development of business infrastructure. Dozens of projects will be implemented in all regions of Moldova, bringing important changes to people's lives. For example, the sewage system will be expanded in Soroca, benefiting 22,500 people, and similar work is planned in Donduseni district, as well as the restoration of the Pommer estate in the village of Taul. In Hincesti, seven tourist attractions and a recreation park near the Cogalnic River will be developed. There are plans to develop the Old Orhei cultural and natural reserve and expand the water supply network for approximately 40,900 people in the Orhei district, build a packaging warehouse with an area of more than 3,000 square meters, and reconstruct 7.5 km of water supply networks in Comrat. A number of projects are also planned in the suburbs of Chisinau. As the Minister noted, all selected projects will be included in a single program document.
