In 2025, state investments in the restoration, reconstruction, and maintenance of roads and bridges in Moldova will amount to 3.2 billion lei - Dorin Recean

During a press conference on Monday, the head of government announced that of the total amount of investments in road infrastructure in 2025 2.7 billion lei will be allocated to regional roads through the Road Fund (1 billion lei more than last year), and another 0.5 billion lei will go to local roads through additional funding under the Budget +PLUSprogram. Prime Minister noted that the Road Fund's resources are planned to be used to repair more than 260 km of regional roads connecting districts. "Road sections in 31 administrative units will be repaired, including in Chisinau, where we are reconstructing 6 km between the villages of Braila and Bacioi - an important section that will ensure the transit of goods bypassing Chisinau. Most of these roads have never been repaired since independence, and most of them have never been paved. Some sections of regional roads are already under construction or nearing completion. For example, the road from Bulboaca to Hirbovat, the Sigerei-Radoaia road, which will be paved for the first time, the Colibasi-Vulcanesti road, and sections of the road from Leova to Leuseni," said Dorin Recean, stressing that good roads are important for ambulances, firefighters, police, but also for every motorist. According to him, the following works will be completed this year: the construction of 5 km of road near the village of Slobozia Mare, known to every driver who has crossed the customs office in Giurgiulesti; 3 km from the village of Lozova to the M1 Chisinau-Leuseni highway; a road through the forest in Leuseni for residents of Straseni and Calarasi; 5 km of asphalt road, which will contribute to the development of the tourist potential of the Vadul-Rascov region on the Dniester River in Soldanești. According to Dorin Recean, all these projects should be completed this year, with the competent authorities monitoring their implementation and quality control. In addition to the Road Fund resources, 0.5 billion lei has been allocated through the Budget +PLUS program for local roads. According to Prime Minister, 579 mayors across the country have proposed local road repair projects. In addition to all this work, major road rehabilitation projects have already started with the support of international partners, such as construction sites on the Soroca-Otaci, Hincesti-Leuseni, and Hincesti-Leova-Cantemir roads, as well as bypass roads around the settlements of Vulcanesti and Slobozia Mare. Dorin Recean also said that new roads will have to be built from scratch, such as the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau highway, and that a preliminary feasibility study for the Chisinau-Ungheni section will be ready by the end of this year. Prime Minister noted that over the past three years, the PAS government has invested in the repair of 766 km of roads, three times more than in the previous 10 years. Dorin Recean assured that investments in infrastructure will continue and that the authorities will seek financial resources for development, including roads. //26.05.2025 – InfoMarket.
