Government has approved the procedure for providing February electricity compensations included in bills

According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, in February, all household consumers will be compensated for 110 kWh of electricity per month in their bills. The measure is expected to ensure an equitable distribution of aid and provide substantial support to low-income households. Specifically, the compensations will cover the difference between the regulated price and the reference price up to a maximum limit of 1.84 lei/kWh, applicable to the volume of energy consumed monthly, which will not exceed the limit of 110 kWh per consumption point. According to the document, the right to compensation will be available to households that have direct contracts with suppliers and intermediaries providing electricity connection, dormitories and residential buildings, gardening associations, construction companies that act as intermediaries in the process of electricity connection. Electricity suppliers will calculate the amount of compensation from the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund for each consumer household on a monthly basis and indicate in the invoices issued the total cost of electricity supplied, the amount of compensation provided and the final amount to be paid by the consumer after the compensation has been applied. The provision of compensation for electricity to all Moldovan households is carried out within the financial support package announced by the European Union for 2025. //26.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
