
Moldova is finalizing the Reform Program and the List of Priority Areas for Investments in order to receive the first tranches from the EU within the Economic Growth Plan until summer 2025 - Dorin Recean
Prime Minister made the announcement at a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. The sides discussed Moldova's achievements on the European integration path, the current situation in the energy sector, as well as the ways in which the European Union continues to back Moldova's development. Dorin Recean expressed gratitude to the the European partners for mobilizing and providing urgent support to enhance Moldova's sustainability and energy independence. Prime Minister also said that the Moldovan authorities will continue to fulfill the set development goals, with the EU's support. He named as main priorities ensuring peace and security, reforming the judicial system, economic growth and attracting foreign investors, as well as the implementation of the EU integration agenda. “We will build a prosperous country with numerous opportunities for citizens and business environment and show that Moldova can do it. The EU remains the main partner that helps our people and provides us with the necessary tools for development,” Dorin Recean said. In the coming weeks, the European institutions are expected to approve the Growth Plan for Moldova, an investment plan worth 1.8 billion euros, aimed at ensuring the country's economic growth. For its part, Moldova is finalizing a reform program, as well as a list of priority areas for investments, so that the first tranches could be disbursed by this summer. Moldova is also preparing to become part of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) in the coming months, which will make bank transfers more accessible, faster and safer for Moldovan citizens working or doing business in Europe. At the same time, another agreed goal is the complete abolition of roaming charges between Moldova and EU countries, which will make it easier to travel and communicate without additional costs. On the accession aspect, the common goal is to open negotiations on the first fundamental values cluster this spring, and to finalize accession negotiations within the mandate of the current European Commission. “We will support the ambitious program that the Moldovan authorities are implementing on their European path. Your country is an example and the efforts you are making to achieve membership are impressive.
