Government approved the Program for Increasing Competitiveness of Local Producers and Integration into Value Chains

According to the document, in particular, small and medium-sized Moldovan enterprises will be able to improve the competitiveness of their products and services in order to integrate more easily into the value-added chains and gain access to new markets. Under the Program for Increasing Competitiveness of Local Producers and Integration into Value Chains, enterprises will be able to receive financial assistance of up to 2 million lei for the implementation of engineering and IT solutions, as well as for the application of international and European standards for products and services, laboratory tests and certification. At the same time, they will be able to conclude a contract for marketing consultancy services, take measures to protect or acquire intellectual property objects, licenses and ensure their participation in B2B (Business to Business) events. The program also provides for the organization of trainings to develop entrepreneurial skills in the following areas: management, business planning, marketing, digitalization, quality management, logistics and financial management. In 2023, SMEs represented about 99.2% of the total number of enterprises in Moldova, employing more than 65% of the total number of employees of enterprises. In 2022, this sector contributed 55% to the formation of GDP. The Entrepreneurship Development Organization will be responsible for the implementation of the Program for Increasing Competitiveness of Local Producers and Integration in Value Chains. It is expected that at least 1,300 enterprises will benefit from the program. The implementation of all the measures envisages a budget of 115.5 million lei, which will be covered from the state budget under the “MSME Competitiveness Project”, implemented with the support of the World Bank, and GIZ Moldova will provide the necessary technical assistance. // 29.01.2025 - InfoMarket.
