The Commission for Emergency Situations adopted a set of measures to reduce electricity consumption and ensure continuity of electricity supply in Moldova
In particular, it is stipulated that from January 1, 2025, administrators of public buildings and commercial facilities will limit the internal lighting of buildings by at least 30%. They will also have to turn off shop windows, decorative lighting, limit the operation of escalators, etc. It is stipulated that in enterprises with energy-intensive production processes (electric furnaces, electric arc welders, electric melting plants), the work schedule will be organized so that the processes that use most of the electricity will be performed outside the peak hours (07:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00). Administrators of residential buildings and other buildings with elevators will post a notice advising not to use the elevator during the periods from 07:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00 to avoid being blocked in movement. And administrators of water supply and sewerage companies will adjust the operation mode of reservoir pumps so as to minimize electricity consumption between 07:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00 and maximize the potential of the reservoirs. In order to raise awareness on energy conservation, the mass media will ensure dissemination of information materials on efficient and rational consumption of energy resources during prime time. // 27.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
