The amount intended to finance the Moldovan state budget deficit from the placement of government securities in 2025 is planned at 8.5 billion lei
This is envisaged by the draft Law on the state budget for 2025, prepared by the Ministry of Finance. At the same time, it is stipulated that 360 million lei next year are planned to be used to buy back bonds issued for the Ministry of Finance to fulfill payment obligations arising from state guarantees. It should be noted that initially the Law on the state budget for 2024 provided that the amount intended to finance the Moldovan state budget deficit from the placement of government securities would be 5 billion lei. Then, during the adjustment of the state budget, it was increased to 6 billion lei, and within the framework of the recent regular revision of the budget, it was reduced from 6 billion to 4.95 billion lei. Herewith, the previously approved amount of 330 million lei, which is planned to be used this year to buy back bonds issued for the Ministry of Finance to fulfill payment obligations arising from state guarantees, was maintained at the same level. It is planned that as of December 31, 2025, according to estimates, the balance of the domestic public debt will not exceed 53 billion 121.8 million lei (15.2% of GDP), and the state budget deficit in 2025 will amount to 13 billion 894 million lei (4% of GDP). // 02.12.2024 – InfoMarket.
