
Parliament passed in the second reading amendments to the Law on MHI Funds for 2024, increasing revenues and expenditures by 551 million 143 thousand lei (+3.6%) - up to 15 billion 971 million 225.4 thousand lei
The Health Ministry explains the amendments by the priorities in the provision of medical services. The draft law was elaborated in order to update the incomes and expenditures of the mandatory health insurance (MHI) funds, based on the results of the analysis of the current year's indicators and the expenses of the organizations providing medical services. Thus, both the revenues and the expenses of the MHI funds will amount to 15 billion 971 million 225.4 thousand lei, which is 3.6 per cent more than the amount approved earlier. According to the document, the amount of allocations for the population's access to dialysis services will be increased by 1 million lei. It is also proposed to increase the amount of emergency pre-hospital medical aid by 24.3 million lei, hospital medical aid - by more than 509 million lei, compensated medicines and medical devices - by 45 million lei. At the same time, 19.3 million lei will be used to cover the expenses for medical services provided to refugee citizens from Ukraine and 7.3 million lei - to pay the salaries of resident doctors. The draft law also envisages a reduction of 8.5 million lei, compared to the previously approved amount, in the fund for preventive measures due to savings on the purchase of flu vaccines. // 28.11.2024 - InfoMarket
