Moldovan parliament will hold public hearings on the situation in the energy sector next week
Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance, Radu Marian, said that institutions and enterprises from this sector will be invited to these hearings in connection with the application of Moldovagaz for an increase in the natural gas tariff. “Of course, we are waiting for the National Agency for Energy Regulation’s (NAER) decision, but the application of this company rightly causes dissatisfaction and perplexity among many citizens, especially if we take into account that a few months ago some leaders of the sector made optimistic statements about the situation in the energy sector. At this hearing, we intend to clarify the reasons that led to this sudden request for an increase and identify solutions to mitigate the risk of a sudden rate adjustment in the future.
