Moldova has dropped from 60th to 68th place in The Global Innovation Index 2024

According to the study prepared by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Cornell University and the Insead School of Management, Moldova is behind Bulgaria, which ranked 38th, Romania - 48th, Russia - 59th, Ukraine - 60th, while ahead of Kazakhstan (78), Albania (84), Belarus (85), Azerbaijan (95) and others. The leaders of this year's ranking are Switzerland, Sweden, USA, Singapore, UK, Korea, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and the ranking is closed by Burundi, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Mali, Niger and Angola. The Global Innovation Index is one of the most important benchmark studies for measuring the innovation performance of countries. This year's study covers 133 countries around the world and looks at about 80 indicators, including: human capital and research, infrastructure, credit, investment, connectivity, innovation, creative output, etc. It reflects a country's commitment to promoting innovation and provides insight into the progress made in this area over time. In the 2024 ranking, Moldova ranked 80th in the innovation potential sub-index and 57th in the innovation volume sub-index, 89th in infrastructure, and 68th in human capital and research. In creativity, Moldova ranked 51st. In terms of knowledge and technological results, the country ranked 64th, and in terms of business development - 105th. In the category of development of institutions for innovation, Moldova ranked 90th, compared to 96th place in the previous year, and in the indicator of market development Moldova ranked 63rd.
