Total revenue of Moldova’s state budget amounted to about 37.7 billion lei in 7 months of 2024, which is 10.1% more than in the same period last year (34.21 billion lei)

According to the Finance Ministry, out of the total revenues in January-July of this year, 37.3 billion lei accounted for general and collected revenues, while 0.38 billion lei - revenues from projects financed from external sources. The highest budget revenues (56%) in this period were provided by the Customs Service - 21.1 billion lei, which is 10.3% more than last year. The State Tax Service collected 16.6 billion lei (44%), up by 6.6% compared to 2023. Other revenues amounted to 2.2 billion lei, up by 13.3% compared to last year. VAT and excise tax reimbursements amounted to 2.6 billion lei, down 7.3% year-on-year. The total state budget expenditures in January-July amounted to 44.8 billion lei, which is 1.8% more than last year. As a result, the state budget deficit amounted to 7.1 billion lei as of the end of July. The deficit was financed from internal sources - 9.3 billion lei and external sources - 1.7 billion lei, as well as from the change in the cash balance - 3.9 billion lei. The balance of funds on the state budget accounts as of July 31 amounted to 7.32 billion lei, of which 0.94 billion lei - for projects financed from external sources. // 29.08.2024 – InfoMarket
