
A new project, PROGRESS, will be implemented in the agricultural sector of Moldova in the next 4 years with the support of Germany in order to back farmers
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced this, noting that this project is meant to support farmers in investing in ecological, sustainable and climate change-oriented solutions. In this context, Agriculture Ministry State Secretary Vasile Sarban met representatives of the consortium implementing the Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries (PROGRESS) project, which includes: the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Business Association of Moldova (EBA Moldova). During the meeting, the project objectives, the activity plan, the results of the analysis of value chains in agriculture were discussed, and the priority areas for project assistance were identified. The project aims to contribute to the strengthening of sustainable production capacity, especially for the selected value chains - fruit and nut crops. The PROGRESS project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection and will be implemented in the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). // 05.08.2024 – InfoMarket
