
The Parliament of Moldova adopted 71 regulations in July 2024: 54 laws and 17 resolutions
As the press service of the highest legislative body reported, the most important of the approved documents were the fiscal and customs policy for 2025, as well as amendments to the State Budget Law for the current year. Deputies also adopted amendments to the social security budget for 2024. Other important legislative amendments adopted by parliament are aimed at stimulating innovation in the national energy sector, the use of renewable energy sources and providing benefits to residents of free economic zones. Parliament has also ratified a number of agreements providing financial assistance to our country from development partners to improve resilience, build or renovate energy-efficient social housing, modernize road infrastructure and border crossings, provide patient access to quality rehabilitation treatment, etc. Deputies also adopted draft legislation aimed at reforming the judiciary and fighting corruption. Accordingly, penalties for voter bribery were tightened, and changes were made to legislation aimed at improving the efficiency of the courts and the external assessment of judges and prosecutors. Legislative initiatives adopted by Parliament also contain certain measures to support the population. In particular, the First Home program was expanded to increase the number of its potential beneficiaries. The draft Law on increasing monthly benefits paid to victims of political repression was adopted in the first reading. Also was created a special parliamentary commission, which will determine the necessary measures to overcome the crisis in the agricultural sector. In July, at the plenary session of parliament, 4 reports were heard: the Competition Council, on the provision of state aid in 2022, the Equality Council, and the CEC report for 2023 on the financing of political parties and election campaigns. // 02.08.2024 – InfoMarket.
