The National Bank of Moldova reported this, noting that at the same time, compared to June of the previous year, it increased by 8.7%. According to the NBM, in June 2024, the monetary base M0 (money in circulation) increased by 1 billion 155.5 million lei (+2.9%) compared to May 2024, and amounted to 40 billion 482.9 million lei. Herewith, it increased by 18% compared to June 2023. The monetary base M1 (money in circulation and demand deposits in lei of residents) increased by 1 billion 370.8 million lei (+1.6%), compared to May 2024, and amounted to 88 billion 443.6 million lei. Meanwhile, it turned out to be 23.6% higher than the figure for June of the previous year. The M2 monetary base (includes the M1 monetary aggregate, time deposits in lei of residents and money market instruments) increased by 1 billion 335.6 million lei (+1.1%) compared to May 2024 and amounted to 117 billion 489.5 million lei. Compared to June of the previous year, the figure increased by 14.8%.
