In Moldova, young specialists in the field of culture will receive one-time benefits in the amount of 90 thousand to 120 thousand lei, provided they work in the territories according to distribution.
The government made a corresponding decision by approving the Regulations on the procedure for calculating, distributing, using and accounting for special-purpose transfers to support young professionals in the field of culture. The document provides for the payment of a one-time benefit in the amount of 120 thousand lei for university graduates and 90 thousand lei for persons with vocational education in the field of culture. From July 1, 2024, this money will be available to young librarians, museographers or artists, graduates of higher educational institutions and vocational institutions of the arts, who, after graduation, wish to work in distribution in villages, communes, regional centers of Moldova and work in institutions where they were distributed by the Ministry of Culture for 3 years. The money will be paid to them in three equal parts: half of the first installment - after the first month of activity, and the second half - at the end of the first year of activity, the other two full parts - at the end of each year of activity. “Thus, we want to create conditions for an even geographical distribution of qualified personnel both in rural settlements of our republic and in regional or city cultural organizations. The cultural sector will be able to better respond to the needs of the residents of these regions,” said Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan. The Ministry of Culture proposes that the first recipients of the one-time benefit will be graduates of the 2023-2024 academic year, and the approximate costs of providing benefits for 2024 to young professionals from the cultural sector will be 1.3 million lei. The regulation approved by the government will come into force on July 1, 2024 and will be valid only for graduates who, in the first year after graduation, will be employed by the direction of the Ministry of Culture in state institutions in the field of culture and in structural units of local public authorities that carry out cultural activities in municipalities, cities or villages (communes). Statistics show that there are 1,300 territorial public libraries, 1,194 cultural centers and 132 museums in Moldova. The majority of employees of these institutions are over 55 years of age, and the proportion of people with higher education is constantly decreasing. // 05.06.2024 — InfoMarket.
