Such data were presented by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov during public hearings organized by the Parliamentary Commission on Foreign Policy and European Integration. Deputies and representatives of the Center for Harmonization of Legislation took part in the discussions. According to the data presented, in 2023, 96 regulations related to the EU were adopted in Moldova. Of the 151 EU acts transposed into national legislation, 64 were transposed in full. The central government bodies with the largest number of transferred and implemented actions include: the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. As a result, in 2023, compared to 2022, it was possible to increase the pace of development and adoption of regulations relevant to the EU by 51%, and increase the number of EU acts transferred into national legislation by 40%. The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration also presented the progress achieved in the context of implementing the recommendations of the European Commission. She noted that at the moment 8 recommendations have already been implemented. “We have a very good assessment of the implementation of the recommendations. We are already about to complete the process of vetting and appointing judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, as well as completing the process of selecting and appointing a new prosecutor general. These are two measures from the latest recommendation. The rest has already been implemented,” added Cristina Gherasimov. Also during the meeting, the activities of the Center for Harmonization of Legislation and working groups involved in the European integration process were presented. “We need to be very well organized in the next period. Opportunities are limited, but we will work hard to complete all procedures related to integration into the European Union on time. We will organize more such meetings to talk about the progress made and see where we can help you,” concluded Inna Kosheru, Chairperson of the Commission on Foreign Policy and European Integration.
