The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that exports of domestic goods in 2 months of 2024 amounted to $472.7 million. 2024 amounted to $472.7 million (78.6% of the total volume), having increased by 0.3%, compared to the same period of the previous year. At the same time, re-exports of foreign goods (after substantial processing and classic re-exports) totaled $128.6 million (21.4% of the total) in Jan-Feb 2024, down 40.4% from the same period in 2023. At the same time, re-exports of goods after processing (clothing and clothing accessories, footwear and its parts, armchairs, electrical wiring and cables, other products for the automotive industry, peeled walnuts, scooters, chairs and other furniture, suitcases, textile products, toys, etc.) accounted for 13.4% of total exports, while classic re-exports of foreign goods (gasoline, diesel fuel, nuts, medicines, sunflower oil, computers, air conditioners, etc.) accounted for 8%. According to the NBS data, for exporting goods abroad during the mentioned period, road transport was most frequently used - 79.4% of the total volume, followed by maritime transport - 16.7%, railway - 2.1%, air transport - 0.8%, fixed transport installations (0.9%), postal items - 0.1%. Overall, Moldovan exports to the European Union in January-February 2024, compared to the same period of 2023, decreased by 6.3% - to $402 million, to CIS countries - decreased by 31.4% - to $41.6 million, and to other countries - decreased by 20.2% - to $157.7 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan exports during the mentioned period increased from 62.43% to 66.86%, the share of CIS countries - decreased from 8.83% to 6.92%, and the share of non-EU and non-CIS countries decreased from 28.73% to 26.22%. According to the NBS data, the main destination countries of Moldovan exports in the mentioned period of this year were: Romania (32.1% of total Moldovan exports), Ukraine (7.5%), Germany (6.8%), Turkey (6.5%), Italy (5.6%), Czech Republic (5%), Poland (4.3%), USA (3.2%), Russia (3%), Bulgaria (2.8%), Belarus (2.5%), Switzerland (1.6%), Greece (1.5%), Netherlands and France (1.3% each), Egypt and Spain (1.2% each), Hungary (1.1%), UK (0.9%). At the same time, in January-February 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, Moldova increased its exports to Turkey (+41.1%), USA (1.8 times), Poland (+47%), Bulgaria (1.8 times), Egypt (37290 times, thanks to the increase in supplies of sunflower oil, wheat and corn), Czech Republic (+32%), Portugal (18.8 times, on the background of supplies of sunflower oil), Switzerland (1.9 times), Greece (1.9 times), Germany (+5.2%), Iraq (3.4 times), Netherlands (+23.8%), Indonesia (up 39.7 times on wheat shipments), China (up 2.6 times), Saudi Arabia (+57.3%), Malaysia (up 15.9 times on wheat shipments), Vietnam (up 4, 8 times), Jordan (9.3 times), Mongolia (4.1 times), North Macedonia (2.7 times), Tajikistan (12.3 times), Albania (12.5 times), Armenia (2.2 times), Croatia (2.3 times). At the same time, during this period Moldova reduced exports to Romania (-16.6%), Ukraine (-58.9%), Russia (-34.8%), Cyprus (-63.6%), Spain (-46.7%), Kazakhstan (-61.6%), Italy (-12, 2%), Belarus (-23.2%), UAE (-77.4%), France (-32.3%), Hungary (-32.1%), Lebanon (-94%), Great Britain (-25.9%), Morocco (-63.9%), Lithuania (-21.6%), Georgia (-27.1%), Canada (-19.5%), Israel (-24.1%). In the structure of Moldovan exports in the first 2 months of 2024 the following groups of goods had the most significant shares: electrical machinery and apparatus and their parts (16.6%); cereals and preparations based on them (12.8%); vegetables and fruits (12.7%); oil seeds and fruits (9%); clothing and accessories (6.7%); alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (5,5%); vegetable fats and oils (5.4%); furniture and parts thereof (3.9%); petroleum, petroleum products and related products (3.9%); yarn, fabrics, textiles and related products (2%); nonmetallic mineral products (2%); animal feed (1.6%); drugs and pharmaceuticals (1.4%). // 16.04.2024 - InfoMarket.
